Ain't nobody Humpin' Around but Max!

As I sit here watching my mother's dog, Max, humping a blanket I think back on what a fun, crazy and ever so weird weekend this was.

First off, I love my mother tremendously. She is an amazing woman who has a positive affect on everybody she comes in contact with. Do you know how many people this weekend alone said I love your mother and she is amazing! Just affirms everything for me. A PHENOMENAL WOMAN!

Saturday evening I hung out with some Sanderson Class of 83 classmates planning our reunion in June. It's amazing what beer and wine can do to loosen up lips...right Rhonda Hubbard?!   I can't wait until the actual reunion. Lookout Spartans...I have a few things to say...:)

Saturday night...one word Mess! Me, Vernon Wall, Jeff Strickland and even my best friend from college Kern Hairston went out. The man never goes out! He orders cranberry juice for God's sake! A blast. However, why is it that Vernon and I always end up in a bar with porn stars and strippers...WHY! Every city we manage to be in at the same time, we find these people.

Sunday was church and relative visits! I love my family. They make me laugh out loud! I am sure you have the same in your family...

And now Max is getting his groove on with a blanket. How sad is my life? I need a personal life and fast!

As I sit here watching Revenge the season finale...I think...why is Scandal only 1 hour on Thursday! DAMNIT! But Revenge is ending on a great note! Bring on Scandal!

Guess who's coming out...Everyday Heroes...Mother's Day...and NeNe!

So this week was all about Jason Collins from coming out to wearing #98 to being Oprah tonight.  I Wouldn't label him a hero but a gay black man who has a platform to do great things in the limelight.  There are tons of us in our communities doing just as fabulous things without the spotlight!

To my local heroes...The Armorettes a group raising $$$ for AIDS support services for nearly 35 years and over $2 million. Brett Hulst who does amazing work on a college campus to guide students to becoming productive citizens.  To my LeaderShape family who help develop student leaders to Lead with Integrity and to Disregard the Impossible.  Heroes come in all shapes and sizes!  A local hero and celebrity Mr. John Lewis MY congressman.  He always has led the charge for fighting discrimination and still is in the trenches at 73 years old.

This being mother's day week, I want to give a HUGE shout out to all the mothers and especially mine Martha T. Kearney.  I would not be nearly the person I am without her ever guiding hand.  She was and still is a teacher.  I have learned so much from her in 48+ years.  And I hope I can be half the "teacher" she is.  Thank u mom for all the love and support.  Thank you for teaching us love and self respect.  Treat people like you want to be treated and to accept and not to judge people.  I look forward to our great weekend coming up!

Now to pop culture.  I love NeNe Leakes!  Her One on One with Andy Cohen made me love her even more.  She is real and speaks the truth.  That's what I try to do everyday.  Sometimes the filter isn't completely there and just comes out...I like it when that happens most times.

4 days until Scandal....
One other thought...Jason Collins needs to date Tyler Perry.
